JANUARY 2010

    

Odette is honoured to be selected as one of 60 renowned and emerging photographers to participate in SNAP! 2010, the AIDS Committee of Toronto's annual live auction photographic fundraiser, supported by the Magenta Foundation. This year's curatorial team consisted of Sophie Hackett, the Art Gallery of Ontario's Assistant Curator of Photography; Debra Klomp Ching from KLOMPCHING GALLERY, and MaryAnn Camilleri, President of the Magenta Foundation. The live auction will be held on Sunday 21 March from 6pm-11pm at the National Ballet School, Toronto. Odette has donated a print from her award-winning Attentional Landscapes series.

The first UK solo exhibition of Odette’s newest series As Above So Below will be held at The Light House in Wolverhampton, UK from 27 August to 22 October 2010. The series was made during a Artist Research Residency in the Australian desert. More details coming soon.

DECEMBER 2009

A folio of Odette's work from Attentional Landscapes is published in the winter edition (#14) of London Independent Photography magazine. The theme for the edition is 'Frames', interpreted as a sense of active selection.

A five-page spread and in-depth interview with Odette about her Attentional Landscapes series is published in issue 12/2009 of the German photo magazine 'Photographie', in their monthly section 'Photographers of the Future - discovered by Ute Noll'. Ute works with surprising and emerging photographers, focusing on fresh, innovative photographs that transport ideas or issues with a high aesthetic quality. Visit Ute's website.

SEPTEMBER 2009

Odette is thrilled to announce that she is now represented in the US (east coast) by KLOMPCHING GALLERY in New York. KLOMPCHING GALLERY is described as ‘dynamic’ and ‘one of the galleries to watch in NYC'. Its exhibitions have been reviewed in publications such as The New Yorker, Hotshoe, New York Magazine, ArtReview, New York Times, The British Journal of Photography, The Architect’s Newspaper and Modern Painters.

A two-page spread of images from Attentional Landscapes is published in hard copy and online in issue 2 of specs journal, a non-profit journal for the arts published annually by Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida.

Odette's fourth UK solo exhibition opened today (8 October 2009) at Lovells London to support World Sight Day. Six pieces from Odette's Attentional Landscapes series will be on display in the foyer of Atlantic House in Holborn Viaduct, EC1 until 22 October. The exhibition is provided by murmurART. Odette is honoured to be selected by Debra Klomp Ching of KLOMPCHING GALLERY for this month's Critics Pick for the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts.

Odette has been long-listed for this year's British Journal of Photography £5000 Project Assistance Award. Every week the magazine showcases a personal project from a photographer looking for completion funding or assistance shooting another series. Odette also appeared in the BJP article 'Show and Tell' after being selected as one of the Top 17 reviewers recommendations from the 2009 Rhubarb-Rhubarb international portfolio review.

AUGUST 2009

Odette has received five Honorable Mentions in the 2009 International Photography Awards Competition, one of the most competitive photography competitions worldwide. The accolades are for individual images from her Attentional Landscapes and Crash Markers series.

JUNE 2009

Odette has received two Wins and two Honorary Mentions in the Px3 Prix De La Photographie Paris 2009 competition. Both wins were in the Fine Art category. The jury selected winners from thousands of photography entries from over 85 countries. Odette was also awarded first place in the Fine Art (Collage) category of the Px3 2009 People's Choice Awards, for which 17,987 votes were tallied.
